Remy, Virgin & Raw Hair Explained

You'll see these terms everywhere when shopping for hair. Here's what they generally mean in the industry.

Remy

Hair collected so the cuticles all run in the same direction, which helps reduce tangling.

Virgin

Hair that has not been chemically processed (no colour, perm or relaxer) before being made into extensions.

Raw

Typically describes unprocessed hair from a single donor, with minimal steaming or treatment.

Synthetic & blends

Man-made fibres or blends. Lower cost and pre-styled, but usually less heat-friendly.
